project management
Initiation, Planning or development,
Production or execution, Monitoring and controlling and finally Closing.
The classic elements of project management may apply to the task under
question or a more ad-hoc approach be required.
In all cases, resources required to fulfill the goal
must be managed and co-ordinated to keep the project within timescale
and budget.
A project is a temporary endeavor having a defined
beginning and end, but will also comprise an important element of the
overall IT system. Project management may therefore address a specific
task, or form part of overall Consultancy services.
An external third party will often be most effective
in project management, the objectives of the Project under management
being thus divorced from the day to day issues of the End User and Supplier.
